If dryness and itchiness occurs, rubbing is greatly discouraged. Patient should used eye-drops to sooth the eyes and to help alleviate the irritation by lubricating it.

Put some protection

The patient is also recommended to wear soft protective eye-mask at night during sleep so that the affected eyes are protected and buffered from any inadvertent bumps, rubbing or scraping. This will also ensure that no foreign objects will enter the eyes during this brief period of recuperation.

Compliance is a must

Although infection is not a common complication after the eye surgery, some surgeons would still prescribe antibiotics as prophylaxis. If medications are being prescribed it is advisable to comply with the dosage and timing of administration.

You should also drink plenty of water in order to properly hydrate the eyes during the healing process and avoid showering to prevent soap and water to enter the eyes.

With these few safety measures, patients will soon be enjoying a better vision while performing normally his activities of daily living.
