Most people have heard how detrimental to your eyes spending time in front of the computer can be. Even though I spend close to 10 hours in front of it, daily, my vision remains perfect, unlike others. Some have had to start wearing glasses after several years of working in front of a monitor, whereas I’m getting close to 10 years of use, and still no change in my vision.
I was quite proud of my vision and liked testing it on all kinds of things. I used to try reading the license plate of moving cars, or the small text under a TV advertisement, from far away. My friends advised me to stop pushing my luck, and try spending less time in front of the computer. They said my eyes will certainly be affected in the future, but I had my doubts.
Since my parents were telling me the same things as my friends, I decided to take up jogging. I spent some time online looking for the perfect jogging equipment, a good mp3 player, and the best time of the day to start. Armed with this knowledge, my jogging began, every morning.
The equipment recommended online was great, and made jogging a pleasure. The Sansa c250 also helped keep my mind occupied, while running. Small and cheap, the player showed me that price doesn’t mean everything. It even sounded better than my PC, which really surprised me.
Currently I still spend a lot of time in front of my PC, but I’ve also allocated a lot of time to jogging and other sports. My physical condition has improved drastically and I’m very happy my family and friends pushed me down this path. I like knowing that while I can still have all kinds of fun doing computer activities, I’m not wasting my health doing it. There’s a fantastic feeling knowing that!
